See, Smell, Create:  Lavender Bookmark Making at Saitama Children Environment Fair

4 min read・Updated 26th September, 2025

A Heartwarming Success at Ageo Aeon Mall

On Sunday, September 21st, 2025 the Saitama Children Environment Fair brought together approximately 65 participants at Ageo Aeon Mall for our lavender bookmark workshop from 11am-3pm. The event attracted families of all ages, with both children and adults engaging in the hands-on crafting experience.

Participants selected from various colors and design options to create personalized bookmarks, pressing lavender directly onto their DIY design. The interactive format allowed each person to design a unique piece while enjoying the creative process and natural fragrance of the harvested lavender.

The Story Behind Our Lavender 🌸

The workshop’s lavender originated from our collaboration with Kuki City (Saitama Prefecture, Japan) to revitalize Shirasagi Park, located near our headquarter. Kuki City was once a popular lavender attraction area but was left in a natural state for quite some time, as maintenance efforts were limited by available manpower.

In 2025, F-TECH INC entered into a partnership with Kuki City to restore this community asset. On March 26th, 2025, we jointly planted approximately 900 new lavender seedlings, marking the beginning of the park’s revival. Since then, both parties have alternated maintenance responsibilities, with occasional assistance from local residents, conducting regular cleanup of weeds and trash

From Partnership to Harvest 🌾

Our first lavender harvest in June 2025 represented the tangible results of this collaborative effort. As we now prepare the lavender beds for winter coverage, the flowers used in Sunday’s workshop demonstrate the connection between corporate-community partnerships and direct community benefits.

Looking Forward 🌟

The positive response at Ageo Aeon Mall validates our approach to community engagement through collaborative projects. We thank all participants and our partners at Kuki City for making both the park restoration and this workshop possible.

Stay tuned for more community partnership projects from now on!
